The Information Gateway provides printed and on-line products addressing all aspects of adoption, including infant and inter-country adoption and the adoption of children with special needs, for professionals and for the general public. It also provides information about and referrals to individuals, agencies, and groups nationwide.
The Information Gateway maintains bibliographic database of documents on adoption, listings of adoption agencies and crisis pregnancy centers, excerpts and full texts of state and federal laws related to adoption, information about ongoing research projects concerning adoption, and a clearinghouse thesaurus. It provides a wide variety of fact sheets on adoption issues, and directories of adoption-related services. Online chat is also available via the website Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Anyone may contact the organization for information and referral services, copies of adoption-related fact sheets, copies of publications, or other information. Material is available which may be of interest to prospective adoptive parents, birth parents, adoptees, adoption professionals, physicians, teachers, researchers and the media.
