Mother and Infant Care

Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH - MATERNAL, CHILD, AND ADOLESCENT HEALTH PROGRAMS

The division administers and implements public health programs related to pregnancy; women's health; and infants, children, adolescents and young adults in Los Angeles County. There are no geographic restrictions.

The division is responsible for the following programs and units:

AAIMM Doula Program

Black Infant Health (BIH)

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP)

Community Health Initiatives (CHOI)

Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP)

Help Me Grow

Nurse Home Visiting Program

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Program (SIDS)

Application Procedure
Call the designated numbers for program information; some programs require proof of participation in Medi-Cal or proof of low income. To request a survey in the Mommy and Baby Project, leave a voice mail. People interested in statistics and recommendations in the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Program or the Newborn Screening Program may access them at the agency's website www.lapublichealth.org/mch

Information on monthly grief support groups is also available online.
