Provider: CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES - HOMELESS ADOLESCENT AND YOUNG ADULT WELLNESS CENTER

The program provides health services for at risk and homeless youth ages 12 through 24 in Los Angeles County. Services include adolescent/youth counseling, child abuse counseling, contraception, general medical care, health education, pregnancy counseling, pregnancy testing, runaway/homeless youth counseling, sexual assault counseling, sexually transmitted disease screening, sexually transmitted disease treatment, suicide counseling, teen pregnancy prevention and management of chronic conditions. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

Services are provided at 5000 W. Sunset Blvd., 4th Floor and an outreach team provides medical care at two drop-in programs for homeless youth in Hollywood. Transportation may be arranged for clients to visit the main clinic for follow-up or for services which can be provided more effectively at the clinic.

Short and long-term individual and group counseling is provided to help clients cope with problems which may range from common stresses and difficulties of daily life to major crises such as suicidal feelings, post traumatic stress disorder and abuse or assault.
