Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites
Provider: LEGACY COMMONS FOR ACTIVE SENIORS
The agency provides services for older adults age 55 and older who live in the Palmdale area. Services include blood pressure screening, congregate meals/nutrition sites, health and disability-related support groups, hearing aid evaluations, recreational activities/sports, and specialized information and referral. There are no geographic restrictions.
Recreational activities/sports services include square and ballroom dancing, tap and line dancing, bingo,day trips, exercise classes, pool tables, yoga, basic computer classes, and driver's safety. Lawn games include bocce, croquet,t and horseshoes.
Health and disability-relatedd support groups are targeted to individuals with diabetes and Parkinson's.
In addition, the center provides hot lunch for people age 60 and older in coordination with the YWCA Intervale Service Meals for Seniors.
The center also provides space for meetings of the local chapter of AARP. In addition, it coordinates with the City of Palmdale Recreation and Culture Department to offer special events for seniors throughout the year.

There are no fees for all activities offered during the day. A donation for the congregate meal is suggested.
