Hairdressing/Nail Care Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for individuals living in Los Angeles County. Services include hairdressing/nail care volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.

Hairdressing/nail care volunteers assist women who have cancer learn about make-up, skin care, hairstyling and other grooming techniques to help them cope with the changes in personal appearance that may occur as a result of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Volunteers help enable women to feel some control over their lives and to increase their sense of self-confidence. Local hospitals participate in the program.

The agency provides on-the-job training for all volunteers. Volunteers who work directly with cancer patients receive more extensive, year-around training. Please contact the agency for training specifics. The agency does not complete background checks and volunteers are not required to take/pass any tests or pay any fees. Volunteers are not required to commit to a set length of service. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Volunteers are not required to speak any language other than English, however, the agency seeks bilingual volunteers.
