The department provides fire and rescue services for the City of El Segundo. Services include disaster services, environmental safety, fire prevention, fire services and paramedic services. There are geographic restrictions.

The department provides disaster services to help homeowners prepare against fires and floods. It provides advice and publications to help homeowners reduce the risk of fire and to be prepared in the event of a fire. When flood warnings have been issued, the City provides sand bags to residents and businesses within the city to protect property from flood damage; the bags are then filled.

The department's fire services include fire control and suppression, rescue, and fire safety. It inspects buildings and property for compliance with fire codes to reduce or eliminate fire hazards and provides fire safety education programs.

Application Procedure
Call 9-1-1 to report a fire or other emergency. Go to the City Maintenance Facility at 150 Illinois St. for sand bags when flood warnings have been issued. Call the administrative office to request fire safety education materials.
Fees
Residents of the City of El Segundo transported to a hospital by the Fire Department ambulance are billed through Medicare, Medi-Cal or private insurance.
