Arts and Crafts Instruction

Provider: BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF PASADENA - SLAVIK BRANCH

The agency provides youth services for youth age 6 to 18 who live in San Gabriel Valley. Services include arts and crafts instruction, boys/girls clubs, computer and related technology training, music instruction, tutoring services and summer camps. There are no geographic restrictions.

Services promote self-esteem in members; provide opportunities for skill development, leadership, and educational improvement; and offer members alternatives to delinquent behavior and experiences to promote responsible citizenship.

The services provided at the Slavik and Mackenzie-Scott branches include Technology and Education centers and activities such as films, pool, ping-pong, video games and competitive physical education programs like swimming, basketball, volleyball, and handball; arts and crafts; and fine arts and music opportunities including instruction in art history, painting, drawing, dance, drama and musical instruments.

The facilities also offer after-school tutoring, computer classes, summer reading assistance programs, and scholarship assistance for higher or specialized education for deserving members.

Summer camp is available from June through July.

During the school year the club is open Monday, 12:30pm to 7:00pm; Tuesday through Friday, 2:00pm to 7:00pm. During the spring break, summer break, winter break and pupil free days it is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
