Perinatal Drug Use Disorder Treatment

Provider: BAY AREA ADDICTION RESEARCH AND TREATMENT - SOUTHEAST

The agency provides substance use disorder services primarily for residents of South Central and Southeast Los Angeles County, including people who are undocumented. Services include methadone maintenance, opioid detoxification and perinatal drug use disorder treatment for adults. The agency serves people who are HIV and people who have a dual diagnosis of mental illness and drug dependency. There are no geographic restrictions.

The outpatient drug detoxification is a 21-day program which uses regulated doses of methadone. Participants are required to take an initial drug test to verify dependency.

The maintenance program includes regulated doses of methadone, individual, family and group counseling, and vocational rehabilitation. Participants are also referred to NA, or other self help groups, but attendance is not mandatory.

The pregnant addict program, FACET (Family Addiction Center for Education and Treatment), includes methadone maintenance, individual counseling, parenting classes, referrals for OB/GYN care, and assistance with WIC applications and other government benefit programs. Women may continue in the program for six months after delivery, or as considered necessary by the medical director.
