Rent Payment Assistance

Provider: BIENESTAR HUMAN SERVICES

Housing Opportunities for People living With AIDS (HOPWA) is a short-term program that provides housing expense assistance and intervention to help maintain a stable living environment and improve access to health care or other support. This is provided through two main programs: Permanent Housing Placement Grant and Short Term Rent Mortgage and Utilities. These programs assist clients who are not able to pay their rent and/or utilities because of health complications related to their HIV/AIDS diagnosis. The agency also provides referrals to emergency and transitional housing programs. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Long Beach office also provides homeless motel vouchers for transgender individuals only. Motel vouchers are limited and only available when there is funding.
