Provider: ALTAMED HEALTH SERVICES CORPORATION - ALTAMED YOUTH AND SENIOR CASE MANAGEMENT
The agency provides HIV/AIDS services for adults in Los Angeles county. Services include AIDS drug assistance programs, AIDS/HIV Clinics, AIDS/HIV prevention counseling, AIDS/HIV/STD prevention supplies, case/care management, coniditon specific treatment, health/disability related support groups, hepatitis testing, HIV testing, mobile health care, and sexually transmitted disease screening. There are no geographic restrictions.
AIDS/HIV clinic services may include medical care, anal cancer and early detection program, dental care, prescriptions, mental health services and support groups. Additional secondary services include acupuncture, yoga classes and nutritional assistance. Patients also have full access to the agency's other health services offered at their community clinics.
The agency also offers the HIV/AIDS Pep/PrEP program that provides emergency post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) treatment for people who have had a high risk exposure to HIV/AIDS, and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) treatment for people who have high-risk HIV/AIDS exposure. PEP treatment includes a 28 day course of antiretroviral medication, usually in pill form. Treatment must start within 72 hours of exposure. PrEP includes a daily medication to reduce the risk of HIV infection.
Screening and treatment is also available for Hepatitis C.
