Provider: BUDDHIST TZU CHI FOUNDATION

The foundation's clinics provides health services primarily for low-income Los Angeles County residents, including people who are undocumented and individuals who are uninsured. Services include alternative medicine, health education, pediatric services, mammograms, pap tests, support groups, and volunteer opportunities. Dental services provided at the Alhambra and South El Monte locations. There are no geographic restrictions; income eligibility requirements apply for some services.

The clinic generally serves low-income people without health insurance, who meet income eligibility according to the Federal Poverty Guideline Index.

Alternative medicine includes chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.

Chronic disease care is limited to triage and referral; referrals for additional services are available. Mental health and psychiatric services are limited to education and family consultation and do not include hospitalization or medication.

The clinic also provides community outreach and education including health fairs and printed materials. In addition, the clinic provides volunteer opportunities for adults, age 18 and older.

A cancer support group is available for people with cancer and their families.
