Mental Health Drop In Centers
Provider: SALVATION ARMY - HOPE HARBOR CENTER
The center provides residential treatment for substance use disorders for men, including veterans and individuals with dual diagnosis in Los Angeles County. Services include residential alcohol use disorder treatment facilities, residential drug use disorder treatment facilities, and a mental health drop in center. There are no geographic restrictions.
The residential treatment facility is a 90 day program. Veterans are able to stay six to nine months. It offers 58 beds with private rooms. Three meals per day and clothing are provided for all residents. Services provided include facilitated group therapy classes, clinical one-on-one counseling, case management, referrals to medical and employment services and connecting residents to housing.
Residents may be referred by the courts or through the Veterans Administration; the center issues progress reports, as needed.
Spiritual counseling is available but not mandatory.
Mental health counseling services are provided to residents by licensed clinicians. A mental health drop in center is also available to provide assessment and either admittance into residential treatment facility or a referral to other resources/facilities based on assessed need.
Work therapy is also an optional program component which is available for residents who have participated in the program for a minimum of one month and includes tasks such as food service, building maintenance, and various other duties. Work therapy participants receive a weekly gratuity.
