RSVP Program
Provider: ALL PEOPLES COMMUNITY CENTER
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides volunteer opportunities for adults age 55 and older who live in South and Southeast Los Angeles. Services include volunteer recruitment/placement and rsvp program. Services and opportunities are restricted to residents of Cudahy, Huntington Park, Maywood, Lynwood, South Los Angeles and South Gate.
Volunteer recruitment/placement services include an assessment of the volunteers's interests, expertise and available hours and placement in an appropriate public or private, non-profit agency. Agencies who wish to recruit volunteers to use in their programs may call the center and place a request.
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) participants serve from a few to more than 40 hours a week in organizations that range from hospitals and youth centers, to local police stations. RSVP involves seniors in services that match their personal interests and makes use of their skills and lifelong experiences.
Volunteers assist in Community needs and help Non-Profit's reach their outcome goals.
The agency in which the volunteer is placed may provide on-the-job training and supplemental insurance while the volunteer is on duty. The agency may complete background checks and fingerprint clearance on volunteers who work with children. Volunteers who request reimbursement from the agency for expenses or mileage must present government issued identification (drivers license, ID card, passport, etc.). If this agency places a volunteer with another non-profit agency, that agency may have different volunteer requirements. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Volunteers are not required to speak any language other than English. The agency does seek bilingual volunteers, especially those who speak English and Spanish.
