Substance Use Disorder Education/Prevention

Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH - HOLLYWOOD WILSHIRE WELLNESS COMMUNITY

The center provides mental health services for people of all ages in the Hollywood area. Services include peer support and support groups, substance use disorder education/prevention and wellness programs. This is a Substance Abuse Prevention Counselor, Community Engagement Team (SAPC) center. There are no geographic restrictions.

In person and online support groups are available for topics including grief and loss, stress and coping skills, social skills, men's trauma, gender affirming, black women's support, and latino men's support.

Wellness activities may include meditation, yoga and other physical fitness activities.

SAPC centers connect individuals to substance use disorder prevention and treatment services.

Training on how to administer medication (naxolone) to reverse an opioid overdose may also be available.
