Cardiac Rehabilitation

The agency provides services for disabilities for individuals in Los Angeles County. Services include cardiac, pulmonary, and stroke rehabilitation; and occupational therapy. There are no geographic restrictions. Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and occupational therapy services are provided for individuals with disabilities resulting from stroke, brain and spinal injury, fractures, amputations, arthritis, pulmonary and neuromuscular problems, pain, and stress. The services are individualized and are provided in accordance with a therapeutic plan which addresses the physical, social, and emotional needs of the person. The services may include physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

Application Procedure
People may be referred to the program by a physician. People whose physician is not on the hospital staff may be accepted and return to the care of their own physician after they are discharged from the program. Acceptance into the program is based on an evaluation of the person's rehabilitation potential and financial resources. People may call for information and a tour of the unit.
Fees
There are fixed fees. Many of the services are covered by private insurance, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. Some funds to assist with unmet costs may be available through the Patient Services Department.
