Mercy Transportation

The program provides air transportation for people of all ages who are in need of medical treatment, domestic violence relocation or other humanitarian care in Los Angeles or in 13 of the western United States. Services include mercy flights. There are no geographic restrictions.

Services are provided for people suffering from cancer, kidney disorders or other diseases and who cannot afford travel by other means; or for people who cannot make other travel plans due to the remoteness of the treatment facility or the danger of contagion for diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, dialysis or other treatments.

Medical attention and services such as medication or oxygen are not provided although patients may bring their own. Passengers must be medically stable (ambulatory) and able to sit up for the duration of the flight. Most flights are made within a 1000 mile radius of the pilot's home base airport; occassionally arrangements can be made for transportation over longer distances and it may take 2 to 3 aircraft for a long flight.
