Recreational Activities/Sports (Youth)

Provider: CITY OF WHITTIER PARKS, RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT - COMMUNITY CENTER

The agency provides youth services for youth ages seven to 14 in the Whittier area. Services include a variety of recreational activities; the program also coordinates with the city's recreation division and community social service agencies to ensure that resources for youth are available. The main program offered is the Whittier Youth Network (WYN) which provides after-school and summer day activities for youth age 5 to 13. Geographic restrictions apply.

The WYN club is recreation-oriented and is designed to promote positive youth development. It is provided at Evergreen, Laurel, Leffingwell, Hoover, Murphy Ranch and Orchard Dale Elementary Schools, year-round and at additional sites during the summer.
