Welfare Fraud Reporting

Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SOCIAL SERVICES - PROGRAM COMPLIANCE DIVISION

The agency provide fraud reporting services to individuals who live in Los Angeles County. Services include welfare fraud reporting. There are no geographic restrictions.

This office investigates allegations of fraud related to CalWORKs, CalFresh, General Relief, IHSS, and the Refugee Assistance Program for Los Angeles County. It also determines the amount of and seeks restitution for fraudulent overpayments and CalFresh over-issuances, and coordinates with the District Attorney, City Attorney, and County Counsel to prepare for prosecution of alleged offenders.

The office administers the Central Fraud Reporting Line which accepts reports from the public of alleged welfare fraud. All reports are confidential and callers may remain anonymous.
