The clinic provides outpatient health services primarily for low-income, Spanish-speaking people of all ages who would otherwise be unable to obtain primary health care. It does not provide emergency care. There are no geographic restrictions.

The clinic is a community clinic and a contract clinic that provides adult and pediatric medical and dental services which include general medical care; child health and disability prevention exams (CHDP); neonatal/perinatal medicine; an onsite pharmacy, gynecological services; physical examinations; continuing care for acute, episodic, or minor conditions which do not require surgery; diagnostic testing; and immunizations.

Preventive care is provided in one or two visits; adult and pediatric medical care are provided on an ongoing basis and require that the individual or family register and have a clinic record. Gynecological services include confidential testing for HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases and treatment for gynecological conditions.

Contract clinic services include outpatient health services for uninsured, low-income Los Angeles County residents of all ages, including General Relief recipients. It provides primary general medical care. Applicant's household income must be at or below 134% of federal poverty guidelines, or who are GR recipients.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

Optometry services are provided which include annual eye exams, prescriptions for corrective lenses, glaucoma testing, LASIK consultations, and Diabetes Retinopathy screenings.

The clinic is also a certified provider of Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), an elective Medi-Cal funded program which provides comprehensive pre-natal care including evaluation, direct medical services; nutrition and health education; psychological counseling, including postpartum counseling, and social services if needed.

The well-child screening program includes assessment of emotional difficulties including post traumatic stress disorder. The clinic provides limited laboratory and pharmacy services; it makes referrals for care that it cannot provide. It does not provide medical x-rays.

Dental services include screening, x-rays, examinations, and extractions.

An onsite pharmacy is available which provides low cost medications and prescription refills.

In addition, the clinic offers health education in the areas of family planning, nutrition, communicable diseases and available resources. Health education classes are scheduled on a regular basis.

Fees

Most fees are on a sliding scale ranging from $10 to $16 per class; there is also an enrollment fee of $20. There are no fees for the youth counseling program.
