Disease/Disability Information (Multiple Myeloma)

The agency provides health services related to multiple myeloma to people of all ages in Los Angeles County. Services include disease/disability information, listservs, printed materials, physician referrals, specialized information and referral, voluntary health organizations, and workshops/symposiums. There are no geographic restrictions.

Workshop/symposium services include the Patient and Family seminars which are held 4-6 times a year in various locations and are generally two-day programs that feature news and information regarding myeloma. There are doctors, nurses and specialists in attendance to provide information.

The agency provides referrals to local support groups and physicians through the hotline. They may also provide referrals to doctors nationwide for people who travel and need medical assistance out of state.

The agency sends a weekly email newsletter and has a listserv that people can subscribe to through the website.
