Recreational Activities/Sports (Older Adults)
The center provides a nutrition program for adults 60 years and older who live in the Santa Monica area. Nutritionally balanced hot meals are served during the noon hour every weekday. A dietitian plans the daily menus, and each meal provides one-third of the recommended daily allowance of nutrients. The center coordinates regularly scheduled arts and cultural events, exercise, educational workshops, dances, group sing-alongs, films, live entertainment, holiday festivities, guest speakers and parties for adults 50 years and older.
L A Valley College provides speakers on health and nutrition topics and Santa Monica College provides blood pressure checks and educational topics. Individuals do not need to participate in the meal program to take part in the recreational or educational activities.
Membership (activity card) is required for participation in all the center activities including the nutrition program.
The center also publishes a free, bi-monthly newsletter, 50 Plus and Senior Program Newsletter, which contains nutritional information, announcements of upcoming activities, a list of new programs and services for seniors, recipes, and the menu for the congregate meals for the month.

Call for information. The congregate meal is on a first-come, first-serve basis. An activity card is required for participation in the center's activities.
Fees
There are various suggested donation rates for registered Santa Monica residents and non-Santa Monica and non-registered residents. The bi-monthly newsletter is free.
