Psychiatric Disorder Counseling
Provider: FULLER PSYCHOLOGICAL AND FAMILY SERVICES
The clinic provides Christian-oriented counseling services for people of all ages. It serves children and youth ages 4 to 18 who have mild to moderate behavioral, learning or emotional problems and their families; and adults age 18 and older who have a wide range of life problems. Services include abuse counseling, adolescent/youth counseling, child guidance, psychological assessment for children and adults, divorce counseling, family counseling, general counseling services, group counseling, individual counseling, marriage counseling, mental health evaluation, parent counseling, pastoral counseling, perinatal/postpartum depression counseling, personal enrichment, premarital counseling, psychiatric disorder counseling, and stress management. There are no geographic restrictions.
The Fuller Psychological and Family Services is the clinical training and community mental health outreach center of the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology located on the campus of Fuller Theological Seminary.
Services for children and youth include psychological and learning disorder assessment; individual, family, and group counseling is available for a variety of issues such as but not limited to anxiety, depression trauma, guilt and bereavement; and it works with the parents and coordination with other involved agencies, as needed, to ensure understanding and consistency in dealing with the child's difficulties.
The services for adults include individual, conjoint, family and group counseling. The focus of treatment may include but is not limited to: marital problems, postpartum depression, anxiety, bereavement, stress management, domestic violence, employment, post-traumatic stress treatment, family issues, substance abuse and premarital counseling.
The psychological assessment for children and adults provides neuropsychological assessment services which detect disorders such as but not limited to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disorders, intellectual disabilities, dyslexia, processing issues, depression and anxiety. The clinic also offers personality assessments.
Staff evaluate clients during the intake process, provide testing and other diagnostic services as needed, and develop a treatment plan with the client. Both short and longer term treatment are available.
