The library maintains a collection of books, magazines, CDs, videos and DVDs that is available to Los Angeles County residents of all ages. Services include English conversation classes, foreign language collections, general library services, government publications, large print materials, meeting space, passports, public internet access, and volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.
The library offers a number of special programs and events for children which include baby, toddler and preschool story hours and summer reading programs. It also provides adult programs including a book discussion group. English conversation classes are also available on a limited basis.
A Braille Institute Depository collection, video magnifier and Reading Machine are available for the visually impaired.
The library also has a computer input access aid which includes voice recognition software and magnified text for the visually impaired. Local non-profit, civic and community groups may utilize the library's auditorium for a fee. Tutoring for basic internet skills is available. There is an online homework help site for kindergarten through adult.
