Affordable Housing Development Incentives

The department provides administrative services for the promotion and preservation of affordable housing and community development in the State of California. Services include affordable housing development incentives, community development block grant agencies, enterprise zones, and regulations and standards targeted to housing issues. There are no geographic restrictions.
Services include planning, coordination, enforcement and evaluation of housing regulations; and the administration of housing loan programs distributed through local entities such as regional community development corporations.
Homekey assists state, regional, and local public entities in developing a broad range of housing types including hotels, motels, hostels, single-family homes and multifamily apartments, adult residential facilities, manufactured housing, and to convert commercial properties and other existing buildings to permanent or interim housing for the target population.
