Spouse/Intimate Partner Abuse Prevention

The program provides domestic violence services for families in Los Angeles County. Services include a domestic violence hotlines, spouse/domestic partner abuse counseling, spouse/domestic partner abuse prevention, and temporary restraining orders for battered women. Services are targeted, but not restricted to Asian Pacific Islander families and are conducted in a culturally sensitive manner. There are no geographic restrictions.

The domestic violence hotline provides telephone crisis intervention for battered women and performs intake screening for the agency's shelter. The hotline also provides information, counseling, and support. Referrals are made for medical and legal services and other related services. The program also provides crime victim support in obtaining TRO's for battered women.

Staff provide advocacy and accompaniment services for survivors interacting with law enforcement, courts and DCFS. The agency works closely with legal partners to provide assistance and support with immigration and family law matters. The program provides domestic violence prevention to the Pacific Asian community. Speakers make presentations to community and professional groups about domestic violence among Asian Pacific Islanders.
