Organizational Training Services
Provider: HOMELESS HEALTH CARE LOS ANGELES
The program provides education services for staff of homeless shelters and organizations that deal with the homeless. Services include disease/disability information about Hepatitis B and C, HIV, and Tuberculosis; workshops; and technical assistance and training for agencies wanting to start their own overdose prevention program. There are no geographic restrictions.
Training, education and technical assistance is provided to staff that work with homeless people with substance abuse or mental health issues. Trainings include a variety of two-hour workshops on topics inlcluding: case management and counseling, dealing with difficult people, dealing with diversity, health and safety, Hepatitis B and C, and Tuberculosis prevention. Technical assistance is available to agencies to help reduce the risk of TB transmission.
