Clerical Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for individuals of any age living in Los Angeles County. Services include clerical volunteer opportunities, dental care volunteer opportunities, food sorting/packing volunteer opportunities, language interpretation/translation volunteer opportunities and more. There are no geographic restrictions.

Clerical volunteers assist various agency programs with data entry projects, filing, sorting, answering telephones, photocopying, mailings, and telephone banking. Clerical volunteers should be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism, as well as strong computer skills.

Dental care volunteers can become involved in a number of ways as dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants at the agency's Health and Wellness Dental Clinics. Dental care volunteers must have the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Food sorting/packing volunteers work in the agency's Necessities of Life Program. The program provides groceries to over 1,700 clients who are on a limited income. Volunteers can distribute groceries to agency clients, pre-bag groceries and fill and stock shelves. Volunteers must have a desire to help improve the quality of life of low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and enjoy working in a warehouse environment. Spanish speaking volunteers with some knowledge of HIV/AIDS are particularly helpful.

Volunteers must be willing to work a set schedule, preferably at least 20 hours per week. Volunteers must work well unsupervised and have good communication and people skills. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Volunteers are not required to speak any language other than English, however, the agency seeks bilingual volunteers.
