Provider: JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE LOS ANGELES

The agency provides substance use disorder services for youth and adults age 12 and older in Los Angeles County. Services include substance use disorder counseling, public awareness/education, and organizational development and management services. The program does not provide detoxification services; referrals are available. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

Substance use disorder counseling is an outpatient program where the length of stay is determined on an individual basis. Counseling is based on the 12-step recovery model and participants are required to participate in support meetings. Participants must pass regular drug screening tests throughout the program.

Counseling includes individual and group counseling for adolescents, couples, siblings, and families. Counseling topics include discussion of the addiction and recovery process, family dynamics, anger management, relapse prevention, and communication skills.

Staff provide community presentations about substance use disorders and technical assistance for other substance use disorder programs in the community.
