Temporary Restraining Orders

Provider: HOUSE OF RUTH

The program provides domestic violence services for battered women who are in Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County. Services include adolescent/youth counseling, case/care management, domestic violence hotlines, spouse/domestic partner abuse counseling, spouse/domestic partner abuse prevention, and temporary restraining orders. Some services are targeted to adolescents. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency's domestic violence prevention program includes presentations for community groups which focus on topics such as the dynamics of domestic violence, the effects of domestic violence on the family, violence in the workplace, and classroom presentations which deal with teen dating violence.

The Child Abuse Treatment (CHAT) program provides case management and counseling services for children and teens who have experienced abuse, neglect or violence in their homes, schools or communities.

The hotline offers crisis intervention for battered women, intake for the agency's shelter and specialized information and referral, including information about how to obtain a TRO.

The program also assists women in obtaining TRO's by helping them complete and file paperwork.
