Transitional Housing/Shelter

The agency provides shelter services for women and their children in Los Angeles County and the San Bernardino County. Services include domestic violence shelters and transitional housing/shelter. Single women and women from out of state are eligible; pregnant women will be considered. The shelter is unable to accommodate women who are severely mentally disturbed. The shelter accepts children up to the age of 18. There are no geographic restrictions.
The battered women's shelter offers a safe environment for women and their children. The length of stay is assessed on a case by case basis; the average length of stay is 45 days for emergency shelter and 6 months for transitional shelter.
The program provides individual and group counseling, advocacy, TRO assistance, support groups, and special youth activities which assist children at the shelter with coping skills. Meals and clothing are also provided. Follow up services for residents who complete the program are provided through the outreach program.
