Parks/Recreation Areas

The agency provides recreational programs for youth and adults in Los Angeles County. Services include parks/recreation areas, recreational activities/sports, recreational/leisure/arts instruction, recreational facilities, and team sports/leagues. Services are targeted to residents of Glendora. There are no geographic restrictions.
The agency offers seasonal programs at 11 community parks, the Big Dalton Wilderness area, an equestrian park, a golf course, a sports park, and other facilities. The educational and leisure programs vary throughout the year and include playground activities, holiday events, health fairs, and nature walks.
The classes and programs for youth include exercise, dance, movement, tumbling, art, piano, computer skills, safety and first aid, baton, and babysitter training. The youth sports programs include basketball, bowling, football, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball.
The classes and programs for adults include computer training, dance, aerobics, arts and crafts, self-hypnosis, quilting, yoga, CPR, dog obedience, and various trips. The adult sports programs include softball, basketball, racquetball, golf, tennis and volleyball. There is also a teen family center which includes a gymnasium, game rooms, computer lab and provides a drop-in center and study hall for youth.
The Parks Division is responsible for the care and maintenance of city landscapes, parks, the golf course, play equipment, parkway trees, medians, and downtown landscape areas.
