Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH - VACCINE PREVENTABLE DISEASE CONTROL PROGRAM

The Vaccine Preventable Disease Control Program of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health provides oversight of the county's immunization planning and delivery. It does not provide immunizations for the public. It provides training, technical assistance and educational resources to clinics, hospitals and other medical facilities. When there is an outbreak of vaccine-preventable diseases the Program collaborates with other public health divisions to identify people who are at risk for infection, arrange for preventive treatment, track the spread of the outbreak and plan a public health response which may include overseeing the mass delivery of immunizations. It also provides data and reports regarding immunization rates and cases of vaccine-preventable diseases.
