Substance Use Disorder Treatment Programs (Veterans)
Provider: PEOPLE ASSISTING THE HOMELESS
The agency provides transitional shelter for low-income single men and women, and women with children who are homeless. HIV positive individuals are also eligible for shelter services. Women who are pregnant or people who are substance abusers cannot be accommodated. Residents who are able to work are required to find employment within thirty days of intake, and are required to work a minimum of 32 hours per week. The programs are divided into phases and the maximum length of stay is 90 to 180 days. Former residents may not return to the program. There are no geographic restrictions.
The shelter can accept single mothers with up to two children. Male children must be 12 years and younger. Residents are required to be out in the community during the day and the curfew is 10:00pm although accommodations can be made if the individual works after curfew hours. Rooms for women with children are private rooms, all other accommodations are semi-private cubicles. Breakfast and dinner are provided on site, sack lunches are provided.
Services for veterans include transitional living for veterans who are seeking and maintaining sobriety and outpatient services as well as employment assistance and assistance seeking and maintain permanent supportive housing.
