General Crime Victim Assistance

The agency provides victims of crime support to individuals of all ages in Los Angeles county. Services include general crime victim witness assistance, certificates/forms assistance, crime victim accompaniment services, crime victim/witness counseling and support services. There are no geographic restrictions.

The crime must have been reported to a law enforcement agency or the Department of Children and Family Services. To qualify as a victim of crime, the individual must be the direct victim of a crime, a close family member of the victim, a guardian of the victim, or a legal representative of the victim.

A person qualifies as a victim if he or she suffers from physical injury, emotional injury, threat of physical injury or death. People who have lost a family member in result of a crime may also qualify. Qualifying crimes may include assault, physical or sexual abuse, child abduction, domestic violence, DUI or vehicular manslaughter, human trafficking, robbery or terrorism.
