Prenatal/Postnatal Home Visitation Programs

Provider: HUMAN SERVICES ASSOCIATION

The agency provides family support services for pregnant mothers and parents who have children age birth to five years old, in the Southeast area of Los Angeles county. Services include prenatal/postnatal home visitation programs. Services are restricted to families living in SPA's 5 and 8.

Services are provided through the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program, part of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Home Visitation Program Expansion (HVPE). PAT is an early childhood parent education and family support program serving families through pregnancy up to the child's 5th birthday, or enrollment in kindergarten. Parent Educators (PE's) visit monthly to provide interactive, developmentally appropriate activities and information on child development. PE's also provide personalized support; access to parent networks; developmental, nutritional and environmental screenings; and referrals to community services.
